You may be asking, what the heck is Shelf Reliance? Well let me tell you, it’s a wonderful company that makes amazing food for storage! In these economic times, and our family living on one income, food storage has become very important to me. I finally found a company that not only makes wonderful products, but that I can sell and gain some income from and get discounts on my own stock.

Why I joined Shelf Reliance:

1. I am passionate about food storage and being prepared.
Times are getting tough in this country. My husband works in a field that is seeing more and more funding cuts from the Government. Although his job is safe right now, we never know when that will change. Since having Jaxen and deciding for me to stay home with him, our grocery budget is smaller, and when that runs out, it’s gone. I wanted to have a way to start storing food in case of a job lay off, or a catastrophe. In addition I wanted food that was good enough that I could incorporate it into our daily meals. I became a Shelf Reliance consultant because it was a great way for me to add to my food storage and emergency preparedness supplies at a great discount. I simply took a portion of our grocery budget and put it towards my Thrive foods to eat from and build my inventory.

2. I wanted a little extra income.
Before I became a Shelf Reliant consultant I was looking for a way to earn a little extra income. I’ve done side jobs here or there, but I didn’t want to have to give my son to a babysitter and go work part time. Part of being prepared however, is to be debt free. With my extra income with Shelf Reliance I will be able to pay off my car early and other small debts so that when we do decide to get a larger house, or if my husband does get laid off, we won’t struggle.

3. I needed something that was mentally stimulating
I love my son, and I love being a stay at home mom. But it is not the most intellectually stimulating. My blog is an outlet for that, and I needed something challenging and a way to get to know other adults online and in my local area. You will start to see more recipe posts using Shelf Reliance products, so I can share with you how wonderful these foods are!
